The Story of the 1000 Islands
Episode 6: New Bridge
In partnership with: 1000 Islands History Museum, Town of Gananoque, Government of Canada
With nearly 1,800 islands, it's no surprise that bridges play a big role in the 1000 Islands story. Paddy and his friends watch a classic newsreel that explains what officially qualifies as an island, explores cross-border myths, and celebrates the construction of the 1000 Islands International Bridge in 1938. It’s a generation-spanning tale of collaboration, clever engineering, and international friendship that defines the Thousand Islands Region.
This MOM (Multimedia Outreach Module) video is the sixth in a series created in partnership with the Town of Gananoque, Government of Canada, 1000 Islands History Museum and Kidoons, in association with The 20K Collective.
